Goatacre Cricket Club will hold their first ever GoatFest in September.

The club, founded in 1928, will be holding the festival on Friday 11 and Saturday September 12, featuring the local beer, music and food.

The festival will see around 20 real ales and ciders available, a village fete and bouncy castle as well as a wide range of music from blues to folk and acoustic with veteran folk rock band The Boys From County Hell headlining the Saturday evening.

Organiser John Wilkins said: "The reason we are doing it is the club is becoming more expensive to run and we wanted to do a big fundraiser.

"When we do a fundraiser we try to have a charity involved, we have a contact with the Wiltshire Air Ambulance so we are going to make money for them too.

"We want to make it a family event, not going on too late into the night but we are reliant on the weather. We are trying to make the music applicable to everyone so there's something for everyone and lots of interesting stalls."

GoatFest will run from 6pm to 11pm on Friday with tickets costing £8 to include two drink vouchers and a souvenir glass and from midday to 11pm on Saturday with tickets costing £10.

A two day pass will cost £15 and include four drinks vouchers and a souvenir glass.
