YOUNG people in Calne took part in a Dragons' Den style funding event to decide where up to £5000 of Wiltshire Council money could be spent.
Those present voted to award £3483 to three activities which will now receive funding through the Local Youth Network positive activities budget.
They judged the projects by how well they met their needs, how well organised they were and whether they offer good value, inclusivity and security.
Over £2300 was awarded to the Wiltshire Youth for Christ for a week-long summer pop up café which would provide an outdoor café experience for young people.
A project to landscape the newly-opened skate bowl, including flowers, a grass sofa area and edible gardens, received £650 with volunteers hoping to begin planting in the coming weeks.
Finally, £450 was given to a first aid event and course for young people following a request from the Community Area Partnership. The afternoon event will see accident simulations and take young people through the steps of how to deal with different injuries.
The afternoon would be followed by a one day course for any young person who would like a qualification.
