A PLANNING appeal has been launched against Wiltshire Council's refusal to allow the building of a new home on Bryans Close in Calne.

The plans, for a new one and half storey home in the rear garden of 72 Bryans Close, associated parking and dropped kerb, was refused in September last year.

The planning officers' report concluded that such plans would not respect the local character and distinctiveness of the area as well as creating an unacceptable loss of amenity by perceived overlooking and overbearing impact for both number 72 itself and from the adjacent dwelling number 74.

Written comments on the proposal can be sent in triplicate direct to the planning inspectorate; Room 3/10b Kite Wing, 2 The Square, Temple Quay House. Bristol BS1 6PN, quoting the Inspectorate reference, APP/Y3940/W/15/3005186, and should be received within five weeks of the April 7.

Any comments already made following the original application will also be forwarded to the Inspectorate but may be withdrawn, modified or amplified. All comments received will be copied to the appellant and will be taken into account by the Inspector in deciding the appeal.
