A Studley man has had his first book published with much of its setting being taken from the local Wiltshire countryside.
John Parker, 79, who has spent more than 20 years in Wiltshire, had never written a novel until The West Winford Incident but needed a distraction when he was unable to continue running.
Having decided to write his autobiography, Mr Parker’s ideas soon developed into a novel influenced by the county’s green fields.
He said: “I tried to work in the areas around Salisbury and Marlborough and the countryside between.”
The novel looks at the changing relationships between men and women in the 1960s.
- The West Winford Incident is published by Troubador Books and costs £8.44.
