A man who is accused of stalking a Calne woman, breaching a restraining order, is to face trial by judge and jury.

David O'Neill, 20, is said to have put a woman in fear of violence over a three-week period in September.

O'Neill is alleged to have repeatedly contacted the woman in breach of a restraining order and threatened to rape and kill her.

He is also said to have threatened to cut her unborn baby out of her and kidnap it once it was born, Swindon Crown Court was told.

O'Neill, of Bromley, Kent, pleaded not guilty to putting a woman in fear of violence through harassment and three counts of breaching a restraining order.

He also denied possession of an article with a blade or point after being allegedly caught with two knives at Lackham College, Lacock, on Monday, September 29.

O'Neill, of appeared in court by video link, was made subject of a restraining order by magistrates in Croydon, Surrey, on Thursday, September 4.

Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case for a trial on Monday, March 2, and remanded O'Neill in custody until then.
