Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted near the Bremhill Rise Social Club in the early hours of Christmas morning in Calne.

The 21-year-old victim had been walking along Bremhill View towards Lickhill Road, Calne at about 1.15am on Thursday December 25.

A group of approximately four men approached him from the general direction of Lickhill Road.

As they approached the Bremhill Rise Social Club there was an altercation between the victim and one of the men in the group which resulted in the two men ending up on the ground.

One of the other men is reported to have kicked the victim to the head causing a cut above his left eye. He then sustained further blows to his head.

It is thought that the offenders may have then gone over to the smoking benches that are immediately outside the Social Club.

A paramedic attended scene and the victim received hospital treatment for his facial injury.
