THE charity behind the new mobile cancer therapy unit due to visit Calne, Marlborough and other North Wiltshire towns has received a boost from the Rotary Club of Calne.

The club presented nearly £3,000 to three charities at their meeting last Thursday, including £1,800 for cancer charity Hope for Tomorrow.

Donations were also made to the National Association of Bikers with a Disability and the Calne Youth Trust, which both received £500.

Hope for Tomorrow is using the money to help with the final preparations for the new mobile cancer therapy unit while the NABD will continue to convert motorbikes and trikes for use by disabled bikers.

Calne Youth Trust outlined how the money would be used for much-needed building repair and decoration work at its Wood Street premises.
