An 80-year-old man who is accused of sexually abusing children in incidents more than a decade apart has been released on bail by a judge.
Terrence Bembridge is first said to have molested a boy under the age of 16 in Calne between the start of 1968 and June 1970.
The pensioner is also accused of sex offences against a girl who was under the age of 14 between October 1985 and 1989.
Bembridge, of Leslie Rise, Lower Westwood, Bradford on Avon, faces five allegations of indecent assault and three of gross indecency with a child.
No charges were formally put to him and he did not enter any pleas during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Curt on Friday.
Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to Friday, November 21, and released him on bail until then.
