Sixth form student Greg Pilgrim, 18, has been banned from driving for 20 months after pleading guilty to failing to provide police with a specimen for analysis.
Pilgrim, of Water Mint Way, Calne, who hopes to be an engineer and studies maths, biology and chemistry, had to quit his part-time job at Hullavington go-kart centre after he crashed his Vauxhall Corsa into a parked Mercedes in Curzon Street at 8.20am on Sunday, March 23.
A first breath test was positive and he failed to provide a second, for which he apologised through his solicitor to Chippenham magistrates on Thursday.
Pilgrim must still pay his £1,800 a year car insurance in order to make a claim, plus a £100 fine, £85 court costs and £20 victim surcharge.
