Lacock residents determined to save their post office

Lacock residents are more determined than ever to save their post office

LACOCK trader Keith Bulson said villagers are more determined than ever to save their post office after seven closures across Wiltshire were announced today.

The decision on Lacock and Yatton Keynell branches has been postponed for further consultation.

Mr Bulson, who owns Lacock Woollen Centre, said: "I am very suspicious about extended consultation. If something is worth saving it is worth saving.

"If the post office was to close it would affect my business. People visit Lacock from all over the world and often post gifts back home. If they can't do this I am worried the tourist trade will suffer dramatically in Lacock.

"The post office is part of our community and would be a huge blow to villagers if it were to go.

"People visit the post office daily. We need it. I just hope we don't lose it."
