On December 11, an plan was unveiled that would see Post Offices across Wiltshire closed down or replaced by outreach centres, with significantly reduced service. Residents have six weeks to respond to the plan through a public consultation.

The loss of Post Offices in small communities will not just mean people having to travel to buy their stamps or post a parcel. The Post Offices often tip the economic scales in favour of making village shops profitable and when the mail business goes, the shops, which are the hub of these communities, go with them.

To obtain a copy of the detailed plan, go to: www.postoffice.co.uk/networkchange.

  • Click here to email the National Consultation team to let them know your thoughts on the plan.

  • By clicking here you can download a copy of our Save the Post Offices poster, to show your support for keeping the Post Offices open.
