Annie waits in the wings

IT is show time again at Pewsey Vale School with a major musical production due to open last night.

The musical Annie follows on from last year's hugely successful production of Bugsy Malone.

The school has already gained a prestigious Artsmark Silver Award for its performing arts and this week learned it had gained Specialist College status for the arts.

A highly talented cast of 11 to 16-year-olds is led by Christie and Gina Strong in the part of Annie for alternate performances with Kenny Tasker as Daddy' Warbucks.

Rowan Godwin plays the evil Miss Hannigan, and Jack Aroskin and Heather Still the parts of Rooster and Lily, the crooks set on stealing orphan Annie's future happiness.

President Roosevelt, played by Will Edwards, is called upon to get the FBI involved to help solve the case.

A large supporting cast of students from all years play orphans, policemen, politicians and servants.
