Aftermath of the fire

Fire crews were called to tackle a fire on a narrowboat on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Honeystreet this evening.

Crews from Devizes, Pewsey and Swindon, with water rescue teams from Melksham and Chipenham and an emergency support vehicle from Swindon rushed to the blaze on the 45ft boat at 6.30pm.

The boat was destroyed by the blaze but no one is believed to have been hurt.
