Pearce will be a drawPearce will be a draw
3:18pm Thu 8 May 08
I found Tony Gray's letter of May 1 to be misguided in the extreme. I assisted the excellent school fund-raising team in organising Stuart Pearce to attend the turf cutting at St. John's.

Manager is relevant
3:17pm Thursday 8th May 2008
I was disappointed to read Tony Gray's letter in last week's Gazette & Herald. After almost ten years in the planning and with many barriers to overcome, we are proud to be able to celebrate the commencement of work on our new school, and are excited that one of our most well-known local residents has agreed to cut the first turf.

Kats & Kits success
3:15pm Thursday 8th May 2008
On behalf of Devizes Kats & Kits in Care, I would like to thank everyone who has already joined our new 100 Club. Your kind support is valued immensely, and will help fund the essential lifelong needs of ex-feral and special needs cats that society deems unhomeable.

Opposed to changes
3:12pm Thursday 8th May 2008
If, as suggested in last week's Gazette and Herald, the partnership between Wiltshire Police and the Great Western Ambulance Service does come to an end, it will be a sad day indeed for the county and the ambulance service will have a great deal to answer for.

PCT ignored years of campaigning
3:11pm Thursday 8th May 2008
At a recent court hearing, a Judge said that, as I claimed the community was behind me in the case for Savernake Minor Injuries Unit, I should put my money where my mouth was. He gave me a Protected Costs Order of £20,000.

Children are at risk
3:08pm Thursday 8th May 2008
Now in retirement after together working for over 60 years for Wiltshire schools, we were concerned to read of the county's proposal to merge Urchfont and Upavon schools.

Turf not for young
3:07pm Thursday 8th May 2008
How ironic that, having disposed of half its pitches, St John's School should invite a distinguished footballer to inaugurate the new development. I wonder if the manager of the England youth team has been informed that the turf he is cutting will no longer be available for training young footballers.

Thanks for response
2:53pm Thursday 8th May 2008
May I thank all those who responded to the item in your paper on April 10 and have donated comfort items for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

What will £5 buy?
2:52pm Thursday 8th May 2008
Mr Justice Holman wants to see the proof that the people of Marlborough are supporting Val Compton's heroic struggle to save our hospital. He has capped her liability at £20,000.

Enough is enough
2:51pm Thursday 8th May 2008
I feel that I must defend Mrs King in her quest to have the likes of Robbie Hayter removed from the Letters pages of the Gazette. There are far too many such letters, doing nothing but provoking discussion and debate, from such people.
