Tonight (Friday) sees the opening of a special talent contest at the Bath Arms, Warminster in aid of Help For Heroes.

Landlord Ian O’Donnell, who was in the Royal Regiment of Wales between 1979 and 1993, has organised the event along with his partner Jackie Gunton, whose father, Willy Cairns, was in the Royal Irish Regiment.

Mr O’Donnell said: “You can come and do anything.

“We’ve got comedians, singers and others who are keeping their act very close to their chests. Just turn up on the night or come in and register with us beforehand.”

The competition, which starts at 8.30pm, will run for 12 weeks. More details from 01985 212710.
