A MAN found dead in woodland near Chippenham has been named as Richard Haddrell.
Mr Haddrell, who would have celebrated his 57th birthday just days after his death on June '17, was found in Bird's Marsh Wood following a suspected overdose.
Mr Haddrell was thought to have lived with his wife and child at his home in Heathfield.
He went missing during the morning of June 17 and a manhunt involving police, Wiltshire Search and Rescue and specially trained dogs took place in the area.
It was at 8.30pm the sane evening that a search dog found his body in the woods.
The 15-hour search for Mr Haddrell had been sparked after concern was raised for his welfare and state of mind.
It is thought he had been suffering from depression.
Lowland search dogs from Hampshire and Sussex were called in and Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) had 15 volunteers out with police officers throughout the day.
Although the cause of death had not been officially confirmed police are not treating it as suspicious.
