Thaila Zucchi said her role as fake housemate Pauline in the Big Brother house was her most challenging role ever.

The 26-year-old, who was born at Princess Margaret Hospital and lived in Cricklade until she was four, said her secret mission of trying to persuade the other contestants she was a waitress from Australia was tough to pull off.

"I didn't have as long to prepare as most of my other acting jobs," she said.

"I was called by producers on Tuesday last week and asked if I'd go in and, by Sunday night, I had arrived.

"I've never even been to Australia so it was hard to cover myself when I was asked awkward questions by housemates.

"I knew John Howard was the Prime Minister but when they asked me about Big Brother in Oz, I had to keep saying I'd never seen the show before and that a psychic told me to audition and that I would find love there.

"The accent didn't come naturally to me and I was nervous about blurting out English-sounding words."

She completed several spiritual tasks during her two nights in the house.

One was to get the housemates in the garden to close their eyes, meditate and pretend they had the presence of Aussie animals resting on their shoulders.

Thaila said: "I just went with the flow for the spiritual tasks. It was hard not to laugh at times, though.

"I just let my animal spirit guide me through the whole exercise.

"I really didn't have long to prepare to become Pauline but I was pleased I had completed my mission when I left."

In the final task on Tuesday night, housemates had two minutes to position themselves on 12 podiums - ranging from least fake to most fake member.

Brian Belo, who had been told the truth about Thaila by Big Brother but ordered not to tell anyone, appeared agonised at wanting to pass the task but not blow his secret. In a masterstroke, he said: "I think we should put Pauline at the end, because we don't know her as well, yeah?

"To be fair. Nothing against you, Pauline."

As a result, Big Brother revealed Pauline was not from Australia and was, in fact, an actress from Swindon and that by identifying her as the most fake, housemates had passed their shopping task.

Thaila, who has recently appeared in Channel 4's Balls of Steel, said she didn't find love but thought all the housemates were nice people.

"Pauline didn't fancy anyone in the house but she did think they were all attractive people," she said.

"I got on very well with Gerry. He knows a lot, is well educated, friendly and a lovely person.

"I didn't not get on with anyone - Charley was very friendly on the first night I came in but she really is as transparent as she appears.

"I want Brian, Liam or Gerry to win."

After leaving the house the former Allstars band member plans to return to Swindon in the near future saying: "Swindon is a lovely place and I really like shopping at the Outlet Village."

The busy actress has lots of roles lined up including starring in the second series of Not Going Out - a sitcom on the BBC with comedian Lee Mack.

She will also appear on Big Brother's Little Brother and Big Brother's Big Mouth.

Tonight's eviction will see a further twist to the game with a fake eviction. Either loudmouth Charley or grumpy Nicky will get the boot only to be thrown back into the house.
