Littlecote House stores manager Bruce Steggles was amazed when he saw a picture of a mysterious blob on a photo taken in the mansion's Great Hall.

It was an exact carbon-copy of a spooky image that came out in another photograph taken at Littlecote by wedding cameraman Boyd Galloway and featured in the Gazette on March 29.

Mr Galloway, from Andover, was taking still pictures at a wedding for Burbage photographic agency boss Peter Vallis on March 17 who was recording the event on video.

When Mr Galloway downloaded his pictures on to a computer he spotted a mysterious disc on one photograph that looked as if it could have been caused by refraction of light.

But Mr Vallis and Mr Galloway were spooked when a team of ghostbusters from Swindon said these blobs were believed to be the manifestation of a spirit.

Littlecote House is said to have several resident spooks. It is now a Warner hotel and guests have reported having their bedclothes tweaked.

Mr Steggles, 42, had spotted an odd circular blob on photographs he took when the 101st Airborne Division museum was opened in January.

The opening ceremony was in the Great Hall - where Mr Galloway took his mystery photo on March 17.

Mr Steggles said: "As soon as I saw the other (Mr Galloway's) picture I saw that the mysterious shape was virtually identical to the one in my own photograph. It looks to be the same as mine."

Mr Steggles said he had tried taking further photographs of the Great Hall in different light conditions but had been unable to replicate the blob.

He said other mysterious shapes, including one triangular one, had appeared on photos taken during last year's Halloween celebrations at Littlecote.
