Despite a disappointing turnout for the Dorothy House New Year Run in Devizes on Sunday, the charity hopes it will be the start of a local tradition.
Dorothy House has run a Christmas Mile at the University of Bath for some years but this was the first time they had tried a similar event in the rather cosier surroundings of St Joseph's RC Primary School.
Runners, joggers, walkers and pushchair pushers were able to take a route around the school playground, the Astroturf and through the reception area six times to make up the mile.
