The audience will be shaken but not stirred when a charity James Bond gala film night is held in Devizes on May 25.

Bag4Sport Charity Foun-dation is screening Casino Royale in the ballroom of The Bear Hotel in aid of training costs and equipment to allow more people to take part in sport.

The black tie evening starts with cocktails before the film starring Daniel Craig is shown, followed by a chance to play the roulette tables.

Bag4Sport co-founder Andy Trusler said: “We launched in November but now our charity number is through we can start assessing applications from clubs and individuals.

“We hope to announce the first tranche of grants soon but it is vital that we get support so we can help as many people as possible take part in sport.”

The Bond night will be followed by a push ball contest on June 9 and 10 at Devizes Football Club. The competition, which involves one team pushing a giant ball into a goal while another battles to stop it, will have four sections with men’s, women’s, under 16 boys’ and under 16 girls’ all taking part.

A four-day cycle ride to Paris starts on September 9. It is hoped about 50 people will take part – last year seven cyclists raised more than £10,000.

Bond night tickets cost £15, call (01380) 728880 or visit www.bag4sport.co.uk
