Calne man facing a rape trial

A man from Calne is to face trial accused of raping a woman and other offences.
Michael Burgess, of no fixed address, pleaded not guilty to carrying out the alleged sex attack when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.
The 26-year-old also denied charges of actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
All the alleged offences are said to have taken place on Wednesday, January 18.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Wednesday, July 4, and remanded Burgess in custody until then.
