Devizes MP takes to pedal power

Devizes MP Claire Perry has not only pledged her support for a new bike event in aid of Prospect Hospice in Wroughton, she has promised she will take part in the event over the Marlborough Downs in July.

The Big Bike Ride takes place on Sunday July 17 and cyclists will set off from F1 Karting on Wroughton airfield and take part in either a 15km route around Hackpen Hill for beginners and families or a 50km route around the Marlborough Downs.

Organiser Becky Gammon said: “We’ve tried to create an event that will appeal to both new and experienced cyclists.”

Claire Perry, whose three children will be joining her on their bikes, said: “I enjoy cycling and I’m really looking forward to taking part.”
