Guides do their best

GIRL GUIDES from Highworth have been leading the way in the fight against global poverty.

The 1st Highworth Guides and Rangers came up with the idea of a Make Poverty History badge that Rangers, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows could work for like other badges.

The group designed a badge and syllabus to raise awareness of the Make Poverty History campaign in February and have sold 4,000 badges.

They raised £2,000, which was donated at a presentation in Highworth.

Lizzy Gayton, Save the Children Marketing Executive, said: "I would like to thank them for their fantastic efforts."
