PUPILS have been learning about the animals that live within rivers in Marlborough as they care for baby trout in the classroom.
Marlborough St Mary’s, Kennet Valley Primary, Ramsbury Primary, Emmer Green Primary and Meadow Park Academy have taken part in the three month long project which will finish next month when children release the baby trout into the chalk river.
ARK Project Officer Anna Forbes said: “Many of them have been amazed by what has been in their trays. It is wonderful that children know so much about wildlife from other countries and now they know lots about the chalk stream creatures much closer to home.”
