CUBS got an insight into the running of a Devizes tiling business that supplies stone to customers all over the country including a number of celebrity clients.

Cubs from the 6th Devizes Scout Group were at Artisans for a VIP tour led by Suzanne Epton. They saw everything from the stone is delivered and stored and how it is cut.

Leader Scott Coleman said: "The Cubs were then taken into the showroom, where they got to see some of the end products. The baths were a particular interest to the Cubs, as well as the decor around them.

"Questions were invited from the Cubs as they went around. One I remember came from Max, who asked ‘how many sales do you make a day’."

The Cubs left with an Artisans pencil, ruler and a stick of rock. They were also allowed to keep their reflective jacket, which they'd worn throughout the visit.

"They were then taken back to the cabin, where they were presented with their artist badges, which visiting Artisans had helped them achieve, following doing artwork earlier in the term."

Jose F Hamp, Managing Director of Artisans of Devizes, said; “It was a real pleasure to welcome the Cubs from 6th Devizes Scout Group to Artisans of Devizes, where they could learn about how our business operates within the stone and tile industry. As a company, we like to get involved with local businesses and the wider community, sharing knowledge and experience to help one another.”

Mr Coleman said: "We’re the first Scout Group to visit Artisans and I hope that if any others visit, they leave as impressed as we were." For more details visit: http://www.artisansofdevizes.com/
