WILTSHIRE Steam and Vintage Rally has made a plea for supporters in order to continue running. The show, which takes place in Rainscombe Park in Oare, on June 9 and 10 this year, faces an increasing challenge of drawing the crowds after a disappointing turn out last year. However, the team behind the show have announced a series of exciting events to draw in fresh crowds to the vintage rally including opportunities to get hands on with vintage engines, a classic car show and market stalls filled with local produce.

Volunteer Aaron Vallis, from Amesbury, said: “The group work hard all year round to make sure the weekend is as smooth as possible and the effort they put in is outstanding! The WAPG Vintage Rally is one of the few remaining shows with a full working section. Agricultural and horticultural exhibitors are encouraged to bring implements and have a section of land to cultivate over the weekend.”

In the last 13 years £60,500 has been raised for charity by over 200 members from the heritage event.

Exhibitors have been encouraged to step forward and take part in the event and organisers are looking for anyone who has machinery such as tractors, motorcycles and commercial vehicles that they would like to exhibit.
