ANIMAL lovers will be able to enjoy festive cheer with songs about creatures from cats to warthogs when a concert is held at St John's Church, Devizes on Saturday (16).

The free event will start at 11am and bring Bristol based singer Niall Hoskin to Devizes for the third year running. He will be joined by pianist Stephen Browne.

Director of Music at St John’s, Chris Totney, said: "Niall and Stephen have provided us with such fantastic seasonal entertainment for the last two years that we just had to get them back again. By holding the concert on Saturday morning, we hope that lots of families will take some time out from their Christmas shopping to come and hear an eclectic mix of songs, carols and poetry from the animal kingdom.

"Niall is one of the great children’s entertainers of our region and will also include some poetry by Roald Dahl in his programme. From birds to cats, fish, pigs and warthogs, there will be amusing treats to suit all tastes!’

After the concert, the audience is invited to a free buffet lunch in the church hall, before St John’s Choir goes out into the town centre to entertain shoppers with a selection of popular Christmas carols from 1pm.
