A CHARITY evening to raise cash in memory of soldier Matthew Hatfield is to be held in Devizes on January 7.
Money raised by Devizes Country Music Club will go to the Devizes branch of the Royal British Legion at the request of Cpl Hatfield's mother Fran Chandler. Cpl Hatfield, 27, died after a tank he was travelling in exploded during a training exercise.
The evening at Devizes Conservative Club in Long Street, which starts at 7,30pm, will include music from Memphis Bell Duo and there will also be a raffle and auction. Tickets costing £5 for members and £7 for non members with children free from www.deadkoolcountry.com or Devizes Books.
