A 38-YEAR-OLD man from Devizes, who didn’t realise he was over the limit after drinking one glass of wine, has been disqualified from driving for 12 months.
Lee Richard Cook, of Leigh Woods Lane, was handed the disqualification at Salisbury Magistrates Court this morning after he pleaded guilty of the charge.
Cook, who was pulled over by police on London Road on October 27, told the magistrates how he didn’t realise he was over the limit.
He said: “I got home late from work, had a glass of wine and jumped in the shower and my girlfriend asked if I could get some credit for her so we could watch a film.
“We had only just moved into the house four weeks before so we had no internet and I got pulled over. I was really shocked but I cooperated with police where I could.”
Cook was also fined £333 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £33.
