A BURGLARY dating back to September is being investigated in a bid to return three stolen bicycles to their owners.

The burglary took place overnight between September 12 and 13 at a home in Wootton Rivers near Marlborough.

Specialist bikes including a Fondriest bike, a Colnago road bike and a Raleigh pedal bike were stolen as well as many other items.

Police have not ruled out the possibility that this incident is linked to three shed burglaries which took place in Wootton Rivers and Burbage between September 12 and 16.

Anybody who might have seen these items for sale or been offered to buy them has been asked to come forward with information.

A spokesman said: “We are keeping an open mind as to whether this incident is part of a spate of burglaries in the area, as we have also received reports of three other burglaries in the Wootton Rivers and Burbage areas between 12 and 16 September. During these incidents, sheds were broken into and a number of tools stolen in Heathy Close, a shed was broken into in Webbs Way although nothing was stolen and a shed in South Bank was broken into - again nothing appears to have been stolen.

"We would like residents to feel reassured that we are carrying out extensive enquiries in relation to all of these incidents.”

Anyone with information should contact the police on 101.
