VISITORS to Yelde Hall this week will see history through the eyes of eight and nine-year-olds as Ivy Lane School's Year 4 takeover the medieval hall with an exhibition inspired by Chippenham Museum.

The exhibition, which is opened to the public from tomorrow (Friday) until Thursday, November 23 from 11am-3pm, forms part of a collaboration between the school and the museum as part of the national Kids in Museums event.

Acting assistant headteacher Danielle Schonfeld said: "Taking part in this project has been a wonderful opportunity for the children of Ivy Lane to share their learning with the wider community. They have been very inspired by the artefacts and so engaged with the learning that they wanted to communicate what they have found out with others.

"They hope you enjoy it!"

Andrew Skelton, learning and outreach officer for Chippenham Museum added: "'Kids in Museums' national takeover event is a wonderful opportunity for museums to work with young people and we have been blown away by the student’s imaginative response to the our collection.

"Their exhibition of artwork in the Yelde Hall complements the museum’s ongoing programme of events celebrating local creativity, including new exhibition Creative Wiltshire opening on the November 20.”
