AN OPTICIANS in Marlborough has been going dotty to raise money for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
The company raised funds for the charity to support their work to help blind people deal with the emotional and physical impact of losing their vision.
The Wear Spots, Raise Lots event also champions the power of braille as a way of helping people read and connect with others using their sense of touch.
The team from Specsavers on the High Street baked spotted cakes and wore dotty clothing throughout the day, raising £100 for the charity.
Customers also got involved with the fundraising efforts by donating money to have their specs cleaned.
Store director, Rachael King says: “When it comes to fundraising days we make a great effort to take part and always try to raise as much as we can. We couldn’t let National Eye Health Week go by without doing anything special.
“Working with RNIB to support people with sight loss was a great way to celebrate National Eye Health Week and we were keen to raise awareness about the struggles of sight loss.”
The event was held during National Eye Health Week which ran from September 18-24.
