A FIRE crew from Devizes managed to release a baby locked in a car after being called out at 8.13pm last night.

The crew responded to a call following reports that a baby was locked in a car and that the car keys were on the front seat.

The crew was quickly on the scene and managed to access the vehicle using some small tools. The incident happened in Crooks Lane, Urchfont, near Rookery Farm.

In a separate incident, a Warminster fire crew arrived at a property within five minutes of receiving the emergency call – only to find it was a false alarm.
