EXCITEMENT is building in Chippenham ahead of the carnival this weekend, which returns after a 16 year hiatus.
Chippenham Connected together with Chippenham Town Council, will be bringing the festivities to the Island in Monkton Park from 12-8pm on Saturday (August 12), where a whole host of entertainment, including live music from the Shadow Monkeys, will be on offer.
The traditional walking parade will also be making its triumphant returning the afternoon and starting at 5pm at the Bridge Centre roundabout, up through Ivy Road, around the iconic Chippenham arches, along New Road and the High Street before ending in the Market Place.
Emery Gate will be bringing the colour with the gigantic colouring wall from 10am-4pm and the infamous crowning of the festival's King, Queen, Prince and Princess will be held there too from 2.30pm.
