SUPERMARKET customers helped raise £1,402 for Devizes Opportunity Centre after they chose it to be the charity of the year at the town's Sainsbury's.
Manager Julia Collier said he was delighted with the total which was raised through a variety of staff challenges and customer collections.
He said: "Our customers chose the charity and really supported it throughout the year. Store colleagues organised things such as cake bakes and we had a number of bucket collections.
"We were very pleased to be supporting the Opportunity Centre which does a fantastic job looking after young children with special needs."
The store is now raising money for its newly chosen charity of Devizes Guide Dogs For The Blind and will be holding a staff barbecue at the Bell By The Green, Devizes on August 6.
Mr Collier is hoping guide dogs and their owners will be at the event to show how the animals can help transform people's lives. They are also likely to be make an appearance in store during the year so customers can see the dogs in action.
