THERE will be something for all the family when Devizes Food & Drink Festival comes to town for two weeks from May 6.

The first few days of the festival will be aimed at adult foodies with a Come Dine With Us evening, pop up restaurant at Erlestoke Prison, gin tasting at the Vaults and a Lebanese buffet with belly dancing but come May 13 it will be family fun all the way.

The grand festival market from 10am to 4pm will include a free Punch and Judy show and a human fruit machine courtesy of Devizes Lions. More than 40 food stalls will sell something to suit everyone's taste from olives to pie and relish.

An international adventure theme will run throughout the day with street vendors selling Persian, Indian, South African and Mexican food. More traditional favourites such as ice cream, donuts, sweets and cakes will also be on sale. A bar and music area is being organised by Kennet and Avon Brewery.

Children and adults will be welcome at the Farm Cookery School at Netherstreet, Bromham on May 20 when students can learn how to make their own burgers. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for children.

Also on May 20 families can enjoy an Argentinian meat feast barbecue at the Black Swan in the Market Place from noon to 4.30pm with tickets costing £18.50 for adults and £9 for children.

In the evening at the Rowdey Cow an Italian supper with living singing by Lucia Pupilli who will perform 40s and 50s jazz and other music will cost £12 for adults and £6 for children, which includes a drink on arrival.

There will be a selection of Italian dishes on each table for people to share over three courses. The cafes own Gelato ice cream will feature in the desserts.

Other events during the second week of the festival include a food quiz at the Kennet & Avon Cafe on May 15, a Sicilian buffet at Dolicipani on May 16 and a Jane Austen evening at The Bistro on May 17.
