TO celebrate the 75th anniversary of St Francis School a special concert was held on Friday (March 17) where past and present pupils sang together.

An evening of musical entertainment took place in St John the Baptist Church, in Pewsey, including the school orchestra, two choirs and soloists.

This has been one of many events the school has put on over the academic year to honour their heritage.

Head of music at the school, Becky Saunders, said: "It was wonderful to welcome back former pupils and to hear them perform and see how much they have further developed their musical skills since leaving St Francis.

"Our current pupils were inspired by former pupils performances and enjoyed the opportunity to perform with them. It was a wonderful event and a fantastic way to celebrate 75 years of music at St Francis."

Back in September, the school put on a 1940's themed day, where windows were taped, an air raid siren sounded and pupils ate a meal from that time.

In December they held a pantomime based on the school's past and in June they are hosting a vintage fete and then there will be a thanksgiving service at the Pewsey Church too.
