Volunteer sleepout in Devizes
A GROUP that helps homeless people in Devizes has held its own sleepout to raise cash and awareness.
Devizes Opendoor friends and volunteers braved the cold in the porch of St Mary's Church for 12 hours and hope to have raised £2,000.
The 11 spent the night in sleeping bags and had varying degrees of success at getting any rest.
Devizes Opendoor provides rough sleepers with hot meals three times a week at St John's parish rooms and is hoping to start a fourth session on Thursdays between 2pm and 4pm. To offer help contact John on 07828 041152.
