WITH Halloween just around the corner, children are being encouraged to get into the ghostly spirit and take part in a spookily scary carrot trail organised by the Chippenham Pit Stop.

Altogether 20 pictures of scarily decorated carrots, designed by pupils from St Nicholas, Stanton St Quinton and Seagry primary schools, will appear in a number of local villages.

Thy include Kington Langley, Sutton Benger, Draycot Cerne, Christian Malford and Hullavington.

The hunt will start on Friday, October 21 at the beginning of half term and end on Halloween, with the money being raised going to St Nicholas School.

The Great Wiltshire Carrot Hunt has been organised by Lisa Hatherell of The Chippenham Pit Stop and Draycot Stores.

There will be prizes for every child who finds all the carrots and returns their completed entry forms to Draycot Stores plus a grand prize for the overall winner.

Entry forms are available from Draycot Stores, shops in Christian Malford and Kingston St Michael as well as The Wellesley Arms and Post Office in Sutton Benger and The New Inn, Seagry and the Langley Tap.
