Malmesbury School are celebrating after their students have produced the best ever set of GCSE results in the history of the school.

In total, 77 per cent of students achieved the benchmark five A* - C grades including in English and Maths, 43 per cent of students achieved the academic English Baccalaureate and 31 per cent of grades were A*/A.

Headteacher Tim Gilson said: “I am delighted for our students who have earned the results they deserve; they now enter the next exciting phase of their education here in our sixth form or at college. These results show the consistently outstanding teaching that our staff provide.

"For the past four years over 70% of our students have achieved the benchmark 5A*-C including English and Maths. Students should be very proud of the progress that they have made since they started in Year 7, there are many ways of measuring student success and whichever way you look at these results they are superb."

Seven students (Ali Cummings, Victoria Gordon, Emilia Harley, Grace Hart, Isaac McAdam, Alice Nelson & Lorcan Purser) all achieved a clean sweep of A*/A grades while another sixteen students achieved at least eight A*/A grades.
