DEVIZES skittlers are crediting a change of name for their success in bowling over opposition from across Wales and the south west.

They believe that becoming the Old Wrecks gave them the edge when they took on teams from Wales, Bristol, Cheltenham and the forest of Dean to win a major tournament.

As well as lifting the winners’ trophy, team member Ann Price won joint lady of the match trophy hitting 54 in the finals.

The competition was organised by Serious About Events of Torquay.

The team was made up of :Arthur Dickinson, Mick Rose, Robin Drake, Gwilym Griffiths, Martin Cockings, Diane Griffiths, Pauline Cockings, Lyn Wyatt, Wendy Rose, Ann Price and Brian Harris.
