CHIPPENHAM Golf Club will open its new eight-bay covered driving range by the end of November.
The new practice area will provide a comfortable and dry environment for members and visitors to practise as well as allow professionals to teach golfers from all over the county.
The club hopes that the new practice facility will encourage more budding golfers to give the sport a go.
Chippenham Golf Club is home to around 600 members and its new driving range sits alongside the recently improved course and clubhouse.
Leighton Walker, general manager, said: “The driving range has been in existence for many years but in the winter months, hitting balls on an open field wasn’t much fun. This new facility is bound to increase participation and will hopefully help to attract more members.
“We really want to sit at the heart of the Chippenham community and we believe the new driving range bays will enable us to introduce more people to the game. We just can’t wait to get it open.”
