PEOPLE in Devizes are being urged to once again support a donation day to help refugees and people in Devizes struggling to cope.

Kayleigh Pedder and Justina Pettifer of Devizes Community Refugee Group hope a second collection at St Mary's Church in New Park Street between 10am and 2pm on Sunday. (29)

Mrs Pedder said: "There are posters up around town and all our volunteers have been spreading the word but we are hoping to reach the wider community.

"We have found there is still a lot of support for the refugees and as winter is approaching we feel it is only right to help them as much as we possibly can."

In addition to warm clothes for the refugees the pair are also want to do their bit to help a cause closer to home by accepting gifts for the Devizes Food Bank and to help people sleeping rough in the town.

Mrs Pedder said: "We are specifically asking for UHT milk and sweet puddings but all other food related items are welcome and we are also accepting donations for Devizes open reach programme, helping the homeless in the Devizes area.

"As a group we strongly believe in reaching out and helping those in our own communities who are in need especially as the colder months are now upon us."
