THREE former Dauntsey School students have been given a cheque for £1000 to get to the start line of the Rickshaw Run in India to raise sponsorship for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The 2015 Hugo's Grant was presented to Archie Tawney, Charlie Nutland and Charlie Mallet at the start of the month at the Devizes HQ of Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Hugo’s Grant is in memory of 12 year old Hugo Halkes, also a pupil at Dauntsey’s, who died in a road traffic accident in 2007.

A charitable fund in his name, Hugo’s Fund, is part of Salisbury based charity Childrens Chance, and is for children and young people living or going to school in Devizes, Marlborough or Pewsey.

A spokesperson for Childrens Chance said that the trustees were proud to award Hugo's Grant to help such a worthy cause.

The grant is awarded annually for young people and school leavers, ideally aged 16-18 years of age.
