The Parade in Marlborough was blocked at the A4 New Road junction because of a car fire this morning just before 7.30am.
There was congestion in A346 Herd Street to The Common junction with firefighters being at the scene until about 9am.
This morning was an accident at Princes Street, Swindon, which has now been cleared, and traffic was slow on the A419 southbound between Commonhead interchange and the Swindon East junction of the M4.
First Great Western reported that after signalling issues between Ealing Broadway and Slough this morning Swindon-bound lines reopened and services returned to normal.
A top temperature of 17.3°c is forecast today - a considerable improvement on yesterday - with little likelihood of rain and a breeze from the south west of up to 13mph.
