IT was hats off for charity when pub landlord Jim Lynch showed his feminine side when he judged a charity fashion parade.
Mr Lynch, who runs The Crown in New Park Street, Devizes, was asked to judge a hat show at Country Casuals in Maryport Street by manager Sharon Plumb.
She said: "We raise money throughout the year for Macmillan and this seemed like a good way of combining fashion and fundraising."
Mr Lynch said: "Hats and ladies' fashion aren't really my thing but I was happy to have the mickey taken out of me for charity. Sharon asked if I would do it and I was happy to support Macmillan."
He donated a prize of meal out for two at The Crown for the competition. It was won by Mary McGregor who competed against a dozen other women all wearing their own hats.
Parent company Country Casuals has decided to stop selling the Country Casuals brand in its Devizes shop but all of its staff will remain selling instead the company's Viyella range.
The exact amount raised from the hat parade is not yet known but it will be added to cash collected in boxes throughout the year.
