A CARELESS cow was rescued by firefighters after somehow trapping itself between metal bars at a farm in Brinkworth.
A fire crew from Malmesbury and special animal rescue team from Stratton, Swindon, went to the scene on Monday morning.
The distressed animal had to be sedated by a vet before fire crews cut it from the metal bars inside of a barn during a tricky two hour operation.
“It was quite an unusual one for us - the cow was really jammed,” said Chris Harvey, of Malmesbury Fire Station.
“We get quite a few animal rescues but nothing like this before.”
