A POLICE officer is facing an allegation of sexual assault which is reported to have occurred at the illegal rave in Swindon on Sunday.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "The matter is being referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) and as the investigation is ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."
The event took place at an empty warehouse at the River Ray Industrial Estate overnight on Saturday.
Around 100 revellers were already in the building with almost 200 more trying to enter the property in the early hours of Sunday when, concerned for public safety, police cordoned off the area.
Partygoers clashed with officers, four being hurt. One was taken to taken to Great Western Hospital suffering concussion after being hit on the head with a brick. He was later released.
