Shaw Primary School in Melksham has been forced to close today due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall overnight, with a number of roads throughout the county also closed.

Roads that have been affected by overnight storms include the A365 Shurnhold in Melksham, which is currently closed, causing traffic jams in the area.

Other affected roads include the B3097 Station Road, A3102 Westwood and B4528 Patterdown in Chippenham, which are all passable with care.

Elsewhere, A3102 Westbrook Road in Bromham, near Melksham, is also passable, but motorists are asked to approach with care due to flooding.

Flooding has also cause traffic on the B3097 Eden Vale Road in Westbury.

Wiltshire Council is advising motorists to drive safely and sensibly. Drivers should never move road closures, or attempt to drive through roads which have been closed due to flooding.

Where roads are open, but have some minor flooding, drivers must slow down and drive according to the conditions.
