Poetry will come to life at the Marlborough Litfest with Zena Edwards leading the first event in the Ellis Theatre at Marlborough College on Thursday.
Ms Edwards, who will be on stage from 7.15pm, explores storytelling by blending spoken word poetry with music and visuals, fusing poetry, rap, jazz and acting together and has worked with Hugh Masekela, Baaba Maal, Pops Mohamed, Larry Willis and Soweto Kinch.
Back by popular demand is the open mic Poetry in a Pub event on Sunday, September 28, at 1pm in the Green Dragon pub, Marlborough High Street.
Hosted by local writer and amateur poet Alex Hickman, who lives in the Pewsey Vale, this is a chance for all budding poets to turn up and read their work. Poems submitted in advance will be read first. Alex publishes his first novel 59 Years 4 Days this year.
